Clubhouse

…Living room style!  When the weather is cold outside and you have four girls to entertain…whatcha gonna do?  Make a clubhouse indoors, that’s what!  The girls asked if they could move the furniture around so they could make a clubhouse in the living room.  I was hesitant as I like a tidy living area.  I really can’t stand even for my pillows to be at the wrong angle on the sofa.  I’m OCD that way!  But I thought, 'what the ‘hay-who’…go ahead and make yourselves a clubhouse!

The girls were ecstatic and jumped into action building themselves a cool clubhouse.  When they couldn’t get the blanket-roof to stay up and come up with more ideas for the ‘construction’…I heard one of my girls say, “I wish Daddy was here.  He could help build us a clubhouse.”

Now, I don’t know about you…but them were fighting words for me!  Well, I don’t really mean fighting words, but more like a heed to respond to such a challenge.  I mean, how can I let MY girls think that THEIR Dad can build a better clubhouse than moi!?  I mean, gosh…I use to be the Queen of clubhouses when they were little girls!  I couldn’t let them think their Dad could up stage me?  I felt like my inner being was reduced to mere chambermaid in this house.  This was now a challenge of superiority!  I would construct them an awesome clubhouse…I will succeed…Muahhaahaha!IMG_0342IMG_0340
I got the sign of approval from the girls.  Yeaaaaa, they loved their living room clubhouse!  Whew!  I made sure to use all my resources too cuz, I couldn’t let pride stand in the way!?  IMG_0337
Finally…I can now get back to my computer and blogging.  But not even 5 minutes later did I get a “Moooom… go hide these diamonds so we can be detectives and search for them!”  Uggh!  I let them have friends over to play with them so I could do my own thing?  Hello?  This wasn’t working out for me…IMG_0349
Well, I guess I can get off my chair and play with you!?!?  So I did.  I hid the diamonds throughout the house…bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen (frig.) clubhouse, etc.  It was fun actually!  The girls teamed up and went to searching.  Here’s Tricia looking in the bathroom cabinets when there was one in plain view on the iron-dress décor on the wall above her.  It’s those out-in-the-plain-view ones that they don’t find!IMG_0353
I camouflaged the diamonds in Gabbi’s room and placed a blue one under her Christmas tree.  But she still couldn’t see it!  It was located at the base of the tree, out in the open…right in front of her and she still couldn’t see it!  Uggh!  I’m too good for this group of detectives…IMG_0356
Here, she felt so silly for not noticing the diamond in front of her nose!  Glad it wasn’t a Fer-de lance!  Yikes!  IMG_0358

Ahhh, normalcy…IMG_0364
Come to think of it… I’m glad we had this time together!  What fun we had playing inside making clubhouses and hiding & searching for diamonds.  Laughs & memories were definitely on the agenda this day!  I can blog when they are at school, right?

After my girl’s friends went home, we put the living room back to what we are accustom.  Ahhh, yes!  It looks real nice now!

Now someone…go straighten out that pillow!
